Tallahassee, FL – The Community Foundation of North Florida (CFNF) has announced this year’s recipients of the Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow grant program. Eleven nonprofits will receive a total of $55,000 in grants: $5,000 each. This program focuses on providing grant support to nonprofits with a commitment to education (birth through fifth grade) and addressing basic needs in Tallahassee and neighboring communities.
The selected organizations provide programs and services that make a tangible difference in the lives of residents, ensuring access to essential services and opportunities for growth.
2024 Grant Recipients:
- Bond Community Health Center – Enhancing marketing for their mobile health unit to ensure underserved populations are informed about their vital health services.
- Children’s Home Society of Florida – Providing clothing and a laundry service at Sabal Palm Elementary to boost student confidence and attendance.
- Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida, Inc. – Supporting the Help Me Grow North Florida program to offer free developmental screenings and resources for children ages 0-8.
- Gadsden Arts Center & Museum – Funding free Art for Children & Youth programs to inspire creativity and cultural enrichment in the region.
- International Rescue Committee – Supporting housing programs with essential items to help refugees and asylum seekers achieve self-sufficiency.
- Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend – Supplying classroom and health items to enhance the learning environment for Early Head Start students.
- Pace Center for Girls Tallahassee – Expanding their counseling services for mental health and substance abuse prevention.
- Safe Families for Children North Florida – Supporting the hiring of staff to strengthen communication and partnerships for families in crisis.
- Scientiae – Providing STEM education materials and scholarships for underserved K-5 students in their afterschool and summer programs.
- STEMS4Girls, Inc. – Supporting their STEM literacy programs with healthy snacks, academic recognition, and promotional efforts.
- Independence Landing – Enhancing their culinary program to provide nutritional support and weekend meal options for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
