The Community Foundation of North Florida’s board approved three $7,000 grants to the American Red Cross–Capital Area Chapter, Second Harvest of the Big Bend and United Way of the Big Bend.

Grants were distributed to support disaster relief efforts associated with the devastating May 10 tornado that struck Tallahassee. These grants will provide essential assistance to victims affected by the disaster, helping the community to recover and rebuild.

“In times like these, it’s crucial for us to come together and support those who have been impacted by this terrible event,” said Katrina Rolle, the foundation’s president and CEO. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to assist these outstanding nonprofits in their efforts to provide much-needed relief to the victim of the tornado.

“The work of the Red Cross, Second Harvest, and United Way has been instrumental in helping the Tallahassee community regain a sense of normalcy in the aftermath of this tragic event.”
