Speaker: Rima Nathan
Rima Nathan is a clinical professor at FSU Law and directs the Claude Pepper Elder Law Clinic. Nathan previously practiced in the areas of complex civil litigation, trials, and appeals, and she served as a judicial clerk to Justice Jorge Labarga of the Supreme Court of Florida. Nathan is teaching Aging and the Law during the fall 2022 semester and will direct the Elder Law Clinic in the spring 2023 and summer 2023 semesters.
While in law school at Florida State University, Nathan served as a research assistant to Professor Annino in the Public Interest Law Center’s Children’s Advocacy Clinic and worked as a student attorney at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Nathan served as an article editor for the Florida State University Law Review and received several book awards. She was also a member of the FSU Law Moot Court Team, and was named the best oralist at the 2019 Bryant-Moore Civil Rights Moot Court Competition and a quarterfinalist at the 2018 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition. She was also selected as the best advocate for the Florida State University Final Four Intramural Moot Court Competition, where she argued before the Florida Supreme Court, and she received the Nat Stern Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Moot Court Team. Nathan now serves as a Moot Court coach at FSU Law.
