Jim Cooke is the current City of Tallahassee Treasurer-Clerk, appointed by the City Commission in 2012. Prior to his appointment as City Treasurer-Clerk, Jim had served as Deputy Treasurer-Clerk for 10 years. Jim graduated in 1985 from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He received his Master of Accounting degree from Florida State University in 1986. As the Treasurer-Clerk, Jim manages the City’s asset/liability, records, revenue collection, risk management, and retirement divisions. In addition to his City responsibilities, Jim serves as a member of the Florida State Seminole Boosters Investment Committee and is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, where he has served as chairman of deacons and of the building committee. Other professional affiliations include serving on the board of the Florida Cooperative Liquid Assets Securities System (FLCLASS) and active membership in the Government Finance Officers Association and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association
