Our August spotlight features Board member and Professional Advisor Council member Jana McConnaughhay of Waldoch and McConnaughhay, P.A. The Community Foundation works with various people within the community, including professional advisors. We are a charitable resource for advisors when they are talking to clients about charitable donations and maximum tax savings.
When nonprofit organizations partner with the Community Foundation to establish an Agency Endowment, they are provided with tools and resources to help grow their endowment for their organization’s direct benefit. Investing in the community means something different for each donor but one thing remains the same, the Community Foundation makes supporting the community simple and easy.
By giving a gift of appreciated stock to the Community Foundation, donors receive the maximum tax deduction and avoid capital gains tax and still support organizations that mean the most to them.
The Community Foundation’s March spotlight features fundholder Ken Boutwell and his son, Jeff Boutwell.
Ken established a fund as a way to give back to the community and teach his children and grandchildren about charitable giving. Today, Ken’s son Jeff, is a donor to his parent’s Donor Advised Fund and serves as a Fund Advisor.
The Boutwell Family view their Donor Advised Fund as their own private family foundation without having to worry about any of the administrative burdens of running a foundation themselves.
